Faith in the classroom

I'm not one that likes to talk about myself. I can talk about my family or friends all day, but when people ask about me, I clam up. It's really weird.

It was the first week of Fall term last week and in one class we had to give introductory speeches. Just a short rant about ourselves, no big deal. I had internal conflict on what I wanted to talk about. The first thing that popped into my head (thank you, Lord) was about my faith. I knew that there would be classmates that wouldn't agree with my beliefs, but good golly, I'm talking about it. Because it is the reason I'm living.

So, I got up in front of the class and stated, "hi, I'm Hayley, and the most important thing about me is that I am a Christian and my faith is the number one thing in my life."
Boom. There it was. I felt at ease after that. Whew.

Well, God knows how to pull His believers together. Even in a college classroom. Even in a very small class. FIVE people after me spoke about their faith in Jesus and I'm happy that He used me to get things started.
The last girl even talked about the college bible study on campus, which I am going to tomorrow!
It's a powerful and humbling thing.

I follow my school's football team on Twitter and someone tweeted out this picture of the team before the game this past Saturday.

Seeing a room full of football players all kneeling in prayer is a sexy thing. Just sayin'!

I've also decided to start the new She Reads Truth Bible reading plan. It just started today and it's in Ephesians, which I love already. I'm also going to add their button to my sidebar. Go download the YouVersion Bible app and lets do it together! If you have any other questions about it, visit their website!
