We had another snow day today. I tried to keep busy to avoid cabin fever. I ran two loads of dishes, folded a load of clothes, swept and vacuumed the living room. I was able to escape in the afternoon to head to April's for dinner.
The first thing I did this morning was order these adorable boots. I don't own any boots so I'm excited that I found these. I got them online through Old Navy and they were on sale too! Ohh, and I totally ordered a pair of jeggings, too. We'll see how those turn out.
I have developed the holy grail of all smoothies. I wanted a way to incorporate more vegetables into my smoothies besides the usual spinach. I had some baby carrots in my fridge so I boiled them in a pot of water until they were super soft. After, I poured the water and carrots into the blender and pureed them. I add about half a cup to my smoothies.
Here is the finished product, a little overflowing, woops.
Incase you're wondering, in my smoothies I use the Jamba Juice (previously Yoplait) fruit packs from Costco. Sometimes I use half a pack, sometimes a whole one. Anyways, to the fruit pack I add 1 cup of orange juice, half a cup of the carrot puree and one of those pre-packaged fruit cups of mandarin oranges. I get mine packed in water because it's healthier but I drain the juice anyways. Sometimes I add a banana but the fruit packs already have banana in them and nobody wants an overly banana-y smoothie. After adding all of the ingredients you desire, blend it up and enjoy! It's very tropical tasting and also a pretty color!
Here is my car when I woke up this morning. The weather is absolutely frigid, (we're talking 25 degrees when I woke up this morning) but I think this is the last night it's supposed to snow. And, after the snow, it's supposed to rain for at least a week straight. I would say I'm excited for Spring, which I am, but that just brings more rain. Ohh, Pac NW, it's always a love/hate relationship.
Ohh, and check out my "About Me" and "Stalk With Me" pages. They're updated!
Since it's almost midnight, have a great day tomorrow!
