Remember that one time I let my blog collect dust for 3 months? Yeah, me too.
But I'm back, baby, so here we go.
A little catch up...
About a month ago April and I ventured to Portland to visit our friends who still live there and to go to a charity bowling event for our state's MLS team, the Portland Timbers. I love to bowl and it was a lot of fun but also raised good money.
I'm normally a fairly decent bowler, but this time I bowled worse than the no-armed person we saw at the bar one night. No, it really happened. After dinner we joined our two good friends for dinner at a hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant. My fish tacos were amazing and the margaritas did not dissappoint!
April and Mark, with awkward hands?...
Keeping with the "road trip" theme, for the 4th of July, The Sheriff's awesome side of the family gathered at the coast. We try to go every year, but last year our family was busy celebrating our Independence Day in the country we gained independence from. Great times.
I invited April along because I needed someone there who was my age. More importantly, I needed a drinking buddy. But, believe me, The Sheriff's side of the family knows how to get their drank on.
Weeks ago, Mama Ging told me about a restaurant, Lil Black Sambo's, which was popular in the 1960s. It's a crazy story about a little black boy. Now, the restaurant is just Lil Sambo's because the world has to be more PC these days. Anyways, DELISH food!
Me, The Sheriff, Mama Ging, Aunt Kaye (Dad's sis), Uncle David, Aunt Jeannie, Uncle Gary (Dad's bro), and Cousin Todd.
This side of the family is a riot. We stayed up late playing card games and drinking. Just like it should be.
Lastly, April and me before we headed home. We drove home on the 4th because I had to work on the 5th.
I love the 4th of July because of what it means, obviously, but what I love even more is that its just another reason for Americans to indulge in some beverages and shoot off illegal fireworks. Because face it, everyone uses some illegal ones, some just don't want to admit it!
OMG - You live!
