Two weeks ago, my dad treated me to an awesome night out in downtown Portland. As many of you know, we are a family of Oregon State graduates. I always like to say that if tuition counted as donations for ticket locations (the more you donate, the better parking spaces you get), my parents would have a skybox by now.
Anyways, I got to spend the night with my dad ringing in the football recruits of the 2013 season.
The recruiting dinner was at the Oregon Convention Center. The carpet totally clashed with the decor but oh well.
You better believe I took a picture with Benny. Complete with wine in hand!
They had delish appetizers and the salads were really good. Each table had a server and our's asked us if we wanted him to "dress our salads." Ummmm, sure, why not! AND, open bottles of wine on the table?? Where do I sign?!
I didn't realize how many people where there but there was about 700-750.
See that guy right there? In the vest? Yeahhhhh... that's Alexis Serna. Oregon State's most popular place kicker. I should have gotten a picture with him.
Dinner was awesome, by the way! Dad and I both got the filet mignon and it rocked.
And probably the favorite part of the night, pictures with the former Oregon State players that are now in the NFL.
Clockwise: JacQuizz Rodgers (Falcons), James Rodgers (Falcons), Johnny Hekker (Rams), and James Dockery (Panthers).
Everyone and THEIR DOG huddled around the Rodgers brothers (to be expected) so I was more than happy to get a picture with Doc and Johnny first.
Funny story, Doc was friends with Middle Sister and her roommate, Nicole, when they were in college. He and Yvenson Bernard asked them on a double date to go get soup. Hilarious!
A few thoughts:
ReplyDelete1. Lucky. Looks like a really fun night out.
2. Julie, Alexis's wife (and my friend/former RA) just announced they're expecting a bambino! Yay them!
3. Uhhh... I had something else, but forgot. So, GO BEAVS!
