Four score and FOUR MONTHS ago. 2012 Beaver football!

This is the MOTHER of all catch-ups.
I am fully aware that football season started four months ago. But it just ended less than a month ago. So I'm still good, right? Ohh well! Don't like it, don't read it! Just kidding. Kind of. Anyways...

2012 was the best and most fun football season I have had in awhile. Not just because of our winning season, but because we had awesome tailgates, friends, food, and a lot of alcohol. Seriously.

Our first game against Nicholls State got postponed because of the hurricane in Louisiana, so our season started a week later against Wisconsin.

The view from our seats before the game. That sea of orange sure looks good. A lot of people thought we would lose because Wisconsin was ranked.

But we won, duh. We knocked off our 10th ranked team in 8 years because we're Giant Killers. And we rushed the field because after our 2011 season, we were stoked.

In December 2011, we also lost a great player, Fred Thompson. He was just 19 years old and died from a heart attack while playing basketball post season. Our season was dedicated to him.

Season and home opener, Fred's mom was a part of the coin toss. Fred's best friend, Ryan, plays defense. The two games Fred's mom went to Ryan had interceptions in both of them. Coincidence? No way.

We're lucky enough to sit on the new side with individual seats and your own cup holders, but it is HOT facing the sun.

I was the first one to like this picture on Instagram. How cool is that?!

After winning away games, the team would go to In N Out before getting on the plane. This happened at our games in California, Arizona, and Utah. We even made national news with articles about In N Out being our "good luck charm". It's hard being Oregonians. In N Out is so close yet so far.

After one game, In N Out was delivered to the team on the tarmac. Rough life!

One of the best tailgates was when an OSU alumni invasion happened. Middle Sister, husband, and friends all came down for the first Black Out of the season. I had 7 people staying in my one bedroom apartment! Crazy fun!

My friends made the games fun and crazy.

This season also marked us getting addicted to Fireball whiskey. Literally so good.

April and I also concocted a little thing called "Beaver Juice". It was first coined on College Game Day and all of Beaver Nation took it and ran with it. Except Desmond Howard was being a hater and would never pick us to win even though we did.

Uncle Myron dishin' up the Beaver Juice.

I know, it looks like a lot, and it was. It was literally half empty bottles of random boozes I had. But it was so bomb.

I wanted to get the word out to Desmond and the rest of Beaver Nation that our tailgate was ready!

Our last game of the season was our rescheduled Nicholls State game. Season ticket holders were able to trade in their tickets for that game for additional tickets to a different game. All that to say, there weren't too many fans at the Nicholls State game.

But it actually made it better. All the fans were allowed to move down to lower level seating if they wanted. Our seats are right next to Club level so we just hopped the little barrier and got out of the rain.

The Sheriff always tries to get the parking attendants to drink and in this picture he's trying to sell him the idea of a mimosa. I'm not saying who, but certain parking attendants are known to chug a beer from their coffee thermos.

Mimosas= mostly champagne and juuuust enough OJ for coloring. Yum!

We ended our season by going to the men's basketball Nike N7 game. N7 is a program to bring sports to all Native American and Aboriginal communities around the US and Canada. The bright teal blue is their native color and everyone gets a free t-shirt for going to the game. We have a player on the team who is Native American and that's where this program got started at Oregon State. It's really cool to see Beaver Nation all decked out in blue and even our team has special blue jerseys!

2012 football was an AMAZING time had by all. Each of my siblings (who are alumni) were able to come up for a game and it was just awesome. I can't wait for 2013!
